You know that freeing feeling you get when you wash your hands of somebody toxic in your life? When you finally get rid of that person that you only kept around— regardless of the distance you kept between yourself and that person— because you hate yourself? Isn’t just so beautiful to say, “I’m working on not hating myself anymore and a big step is stepping away from you because you maliciously and intentionally incubated so much of my hatred for myself for so long?” Well, yeah. I deleted someone’s number late last night, and today genuinely feels like the first day of the rest of my life.
